My Fitness Journey PLUS Tips for Beginners!
Alexis Noelle
Losing weight does not come easy. It is something that almost every girl thinks about and struggles with daily, including myself. I wouldn't say that Ive ever been over weight, but I continually battle with totally loving my body.
Before I broke my foot in July my fitness journey was actually going very well. I was highly motivated. I would work out almost every day after work, started the weight watchers program, cooked healthy recipes, and was working on my inner well being as well.
If you have ever injured yourself severely you would know what it does to you not only physically but mentally. The seclusion from the outside world and inability to really do anything for myself forced a down hill spiral. I obviously wasnt able to work out or cook anymore, so I became a "couch potato" and basically ate fast food every day. The hard work that I committed myself to slowly went down the drain.
I just recently started to really walk on my foot again. That being said, Im ready to begin my journey again.
I began the weight watchers program again which I definitely recommend to anyone that has a busy schedule and has a hard time figuring out what you should and should not eat. If y'all would like a more detailed post about the weight watchers program comment down below, I'd love to share!
As far as actual exercise goes...I'll be honest, I havent been doing as much as I can. Of course, with my foot still healing I can only do so much. I plan to really focus on my core until I am completely healed. I also bought a shake weight for my arms, another thing I recommend to anyone just starting their fitness journey.
Here is a little breakdown of some tips I have for anyone else just starting their fitness journey!
- Start getting used to drinking LOTS of water. I would recommend buying a large camel back or any type of water bottle that encourages you to drink.
- Begin a weight loss program. -Weight Watchers is a great one!
- Join a gym or look into a personal trainer. If this is not in your budget, use workout guides from Pinterest.
- Take apple cider vinegar shots daily. Apple cider vinegar has AMAZING benefits for your health.
- Set a goal. Keep track of your weight loss with PICTURES. Take a picture of yourself in the mirror each week. This is the best way to tell if you are actually loosing pounds. Yes, scales can do the same but scales add on water weight and muscle build. Scales can be very discouraging, so I always recommend pictures.
- Encourage yourself. A couple ways to encourage yourself while trying to loose weight is by writing your goals down (a white board that you can see every day is the most encouraging!) with some encouraging quotes. You can also save your lock screen on your phone as a picture of someone you inspire to look like!
I hope these tips help in some way or form. Need a few more? Send me a message and I'd love to help!
Until next time,
Alexis
