Hello friends and welcome back to Blogmas!

Let's talk about one of the biggest traditions of Christmas....the Christmas tree of course!!

I am not sure about y'all, but decorating the tree is something I look forward to every year. That is mostly because I have made decorating the tree a huge tradition in my home when it comes to HOW it is decorated. Y'all are probably thinking, "its really no big deal, buy some ornaments and stick em on there?"

Well, I see your point. But, you can really get into the holiday spirit by doing this every year, and it is a great excuse to spend some quality time with your loved ones. Even if they are a scrooge. Lol

If you want to have some nostalgia every year when you crack open your ornament boxes buy a new ornament at every new place you travel to!

I LOVE doing this! Because most of the time I totally forget about that crazy trip to mexico or my first time at Hogwarts at Universal. Once you see that ornament on your tree, it will bring it all back. Dont be afraid to splurge a little on vacation and get a souvenir ornament.

At the end of every year, buy yourself or your loved one an ornament that is significant to an achievement or big event you had that year. This is another great way to reminisce on the year that you are about to put behind you. My step mom started this with me at a pretty young age. I have ornaments that signify when I got my braces, when I made the cheer team in high school, and even when I got my license. Its super cute and very fun!

Ok, so lets talk a little about HOW to decorate your tree to the nines!

The more, the better.

There is nothing I love more than a full bulky tree. Because think about it, no one likes seeing gaps in your tree. Especially if you have a fake tree and there is an ugly pole in the middle. Literally use every.single.branch on that tree. You'll be thanking me when your done.

With that being said, you must have plenty of lights! The color of the lights is definitely up to your taste. Get blinking lights, colored lights, I mean go crazy! Lol Just make sure the lights are evenly spread, we dont need any dark spots on that beauty.

So now let's get into the top and the bottom of your tree.

Most people decorate the top of the tree with a star, because that's tradition right? As much as I love that, I think the top of the tree has endless choices! You can get creative and put a big bow at the top with the ribbon running down the tree, or (especially where I am from in the south) Ive even seen people decorate with deer antlers! The possibilities here are endless.

The bottom of your tree is what ties it all in. The skirt is what makes your tree! Within the last few Christmas's, households have been getting very creative with their tree trunks. I've seen baskets, upside metal bins, etc! My personal taste is a good ol ruffled skirt. You just cant go wrong.

Last but not least. Color Coordinate. This does not mean your tree has to be one solid color. Just make sure that the colors you put together work! Another popular trend has been themed trees. Sunflowers, Disney, The Grinch, and even BLACK Christmas trees!

Bottom line is, the room for creativity with your tree is endless. Do what makes you happy with your tree, because it is only up for a month...make the most of it!

I would LOVE to see some of your Christmas Trees! Email me or comment a picture of your tree, nothing would make me happier!

Merry Christmas,

Alexis Noelle xo
