5 Quick Fixes For a More Organized and Beautiful Home!
Alexis Noelle
Hello again! I hope everyone had a relaxing and fun weekend and are thinking of your short term goals for this week.
As usual, Im thinking about home renovation this week! Nothing big. Dont worry, Im not putting in any fancy indoor pool or adding a room to my house (like my budget could even), but its always fun to think of ways to spruce up your house in even the smallest ways.
Every time I add a new and improved element to my house, it really does make all the difference. And let's be real. We're all on a budget here. So, how can I make my house the cutest out of all my friends but still have a bank account afterwards?
Before we get into it I'd just like to point out the best thing known to man, a credit card. But not just any kind of credit card, a LOWES credit card. (Now if you already have terrible credit, please try to stay away from this because you will go ape shit with this thing HAHA)
Like any big department store, (TJ Maxx tries to get me every time, like no, not today sweetie trying to stay afloat LOL) there is an option to open your own credit card account with the store to pay off over time. My boyfriend and I just moved into a new home that we are renting together and we needed immediate access to some large funds to get the house dog proof for my two huge hunting dogs. IF and ONLY IF you are responsible with your money, Lol me going into mature mom mode, I highly recommend starting one for yourself. And if you dont have a Lowe's near you I am sure whatever home improvement store near you offers this.
Ok, so enough about financial responsibility because Lord knows I should be the last person giving financial advice.
CURTAINS!
You would not believe how much some simple curtains could do to your home. It really doesnt even matter the type either. Whether you're a blackout curtain kind of person or you prefer sheer. The point is adding a touch of color around your windows gives the room contrast and can add an overall color or theme that you're trying to achieve.
I've linked some curtains that are too cute, trendy, and easy to assemble.

THROW PILLOWS AND BLANKETS
So true story, when I go over to someone's house it is an actual pet peeve of mine when there is a bland and completely empty couch or sofa. Why? Well one, because I am ALWAYS cold so throw blankets are a must (even though they are really just for show lol). But really, the point is... you cant have a plain couch! Spruce that shit up with some cute throw pillows. Its also a really cool idea to have one with some kind of saying or funny picture...who doesnt love a good convo starter?

DIY PROJECTS
One of the cheapest, most fun, and unique ways to make your home feel very "homey" is by your own two hands!! I have seen so many of my sorority sisters create furniture from old Goodwill refurbishing or Pinterest projects. You can really be creative this way and add your own touch of personality.
Here are some great DIY ideas!
STORAGE BINS AND BASKETS
Ok, wait what? How is a storage bin going to make my house look cuter?
I know it sounds weird but this adds a huge sense of cleanliness to your home! AND you can get cute with it.
Adding baskets in your living room to place all your kids toys in, throw blankets and pillows, books, really anything! It makes the room look more organized but also takes up empty space that may make the room look a little more dull.
Check out these cute storage bins!
WREATHS AND DOOR HANGERS
To top it all off let's give a warm welcome to our guests! I personally believe every single home owner should have something on their front door. Whether you leave the same wreath hanging all year round or switch it up every season, this is a must. (along with door mats, but the actual door is number one!)
You can find the CUTEST homemade wreaths and door hangers on Etsy. I definitely recommend checking them out.
And that's it folks! How are you going to spruce your home up for the new decade? Let me know in the comments below.
