How to Begin Your New Fitness Journey
Alexis Noelle
Starting a fitness journey is never the easiest thing. Especially if you know nothing about fitness, working out, or just health and wellness in general! Recently, I started my own fitness journey. With the help of one of my friends, I created a strict guide to achieving the body that I not only dream of having but WILL obtain. And THAT'S the mentality that you MUST have in order to be successful.
Here is a quick guide to help you start your fitness journey, whether you've never worked out a day in your life or you're a health nut- this is for you!
Track Your Progress.
Here is a quick guide to help you start your fitness journey, whether you've never worked out a day in your life or you're a health nut- this is for you!
Track Your Progress.
You will never see results if you don't track them! Many people have the misconception that once you start working out after a couple of weeks you should be skinny...wrong! Everyone's body works in different ways. Maybe your metabolism is a little bit slower, or your body retains a lot of water weight. You wont see these results just by looking in the mirror- track your weight and measurements!
The best way to go about tracking your weight and measurements is to find a fun and cute way to do it! I bought a super cute planner from Hobby Lobby with some stickers so that each week I remember to log my weight.
Track your weight every week.
Track your measurements once a month.
Find a Workout Buddy.
If you want the absolute best way to keep you motivated, it's by finding someone to keep you accountable! I can not count how many times I have convinced myself out of working out. But the truth is...there are ZERO excuses. Find someone who wants it just as bad as you do. Not only will they make sure your ass gets to the gym, but you can do fun workouts and work off each other's energy.
Create short and long term goals.
What is the point of working so hard for something if you don't have an ultimate goal.
For example. One of my short term goals is to do 150 jump ropes without stopping. My long term goal is to lose 20 pounds. Set yourself a short term goal that you think you can achieve within a few weeks, set a long term goals for a couple of months.
And do not forget that consistency is key!! If you don't continue these steps you will never reach your goals- and who wants that?
What are some of your fitness goals? Comment below and let me know!
Until next time,
